TAYLOR SMITH HASTINGS

After growing up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Attorney Hastings graduated from UNC with a degree in political science. He later received his JD from the oldest law school in the country, William & Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law. After that, he came home and passed the North Carolina Bar, fulfilling a childhood dream to practice law in the community to which he owes his success.
Taylor Hastings has already represented clients in dozens of counties in North Carolina at district, superior, and appellate court levels. He is not scared to use his trial experience to better an outcome for his clients, but he also considers pretrial and alternative dispute resolution options with a pragmatic and deliberate mind. Attorney Hastings is active in the community with professional organizations, a lifelong member of the University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, and a featured author on several regional online publications and blogs. He enjoys playing basketball at the YMCA when he can step away from the office.

On Monday, August 23rd, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. Full approval means the vaccine has passed through the same intense testing and review as other established vaccines instead of the shortened process utilized for the vaccine’s initial emergency approval. Some experts have hailed the full approval as “an important confidence-builder” for those hesitant about receiving the vaccine, while others argue that the full approval won’t lead to as large an increase in vaccination rates as some hope. However, many experts do agree that the approval has the potential to spark a large number of vaccine mandates by both employers and universities, especially considering the spike in cases caused by the delta variant.
